How to Find Chicago Birth Certificates After 1915
Chicago birth certificates are available on FHL microfilm through 1922, but the Cook County Birth Index, 1871-1916, with a few exceptions, seems to end with 1915. In the future, you may be able to find the certificate numbers needed to choose films up to 1922 through the Cook County Clerk's website. But until then, unless you have access to all of the reels (in Salt Lake, for example), the best way to obtain Chicago birch certificates after 1915 is through the Cook County Clerk's Office.New! Birth certificates 75 years or older can be obtained online (downloadable images) from the Cook County Clerk's Office for $15 each plus a small handling fee.
